Phoebe Ficklin is a brand designer and culture writer based in Los Angeles. She founded Fair Witness Studio and created Mohair, a culture publication she designed and built entirely: visual identity, brand system, publication templates, editorial voice. It is a working demonstration of what she does.

She works with publications and brands that have a point of view worth taking seriously. The ones where the writing is sharp but the design hasn't caught up, or the aesthetics are considered but the language is an afterthought. The problem is almost always the same. The standard for one part of the work isn't being applied to the rest.
